There are no words to describe the birth of our first child.  It was a very humbling and overwhelming experience that we will treasure in our hearts forever.

Baby Charlotte took her own sweet time coming to this world as she was 10 days late.  We believe she chose April 3rd to make her grand appearance for a reason.  It was the exact day 20 years ago that John’s father, Jesse Lynn, passed away.  It will always be a very special day in so many ways.

The birth process was not quite what we had planned for, but probably never is.  We attempted a natural child birth through hypnobirthing techniques, but after 18 hours of natural labor, modern medicine had to intervene.  After Pitocin, an epidural (that doesn’t include what they had to give John), and another 12 hours of labor, our baby Charlotte was born perfectly healthy and beautiful!

Checked into the Women’s Pavilion at St. Mark’s Hospital April 1st, 2012 at 7:00 pm.

And so it began…

After 30 hours of labor, our baby Charlotte was born into the world April 3rd, 2012 at 5:47 am.

And our life is changed forever.
