Oh to be Charlotte … and see Boston, Paris, and London for the first time. It was a fantastic three weeks on the road experiencing these cities through a toddler’s eyes. We didn’t do museums (attention span is still way too short), but we did soak in the culture as best we could. Between the 11 hour flight, the timezones, the language, and of course the food, it was an adventure we won’t soon forget.
We were lucky enough to join John on a work trip and experience these places as a family. We started in Boston and then spent most of our time in Paris with a little jaunt to London. Charlotte and I had no problem filling our days with carousels and amazing food while dada worked. By the time we left Paris, Charlotte was able to say a few words in French which makes us think we should try to do this more often. It’s hard to put it all into words or pictures but we did our best to document the trip.

We might have a future freshman (fingers crossed).

Dada took us to his favorite lobster spot.

Swan watching at Boston Public Gardens.

Penguins at the New England Aquarium.

Boston Harbor

We caught dada on his way home from the office.

The Harvard Yard

Just landed in Paris. Trying to stay awake.

Carrousel de Louvre

The Louvre

Her first sight of the Eiffel Tower.

Lover’s Bridge

Charlotte’s first taste of a Nutella crepe.

Ducks at the Louvre.

Parc Monceau

Charlotte’s favorite carousel in Paris – we had to come back many times.

Champs Elysees

The most adorable high chair at our apartment.

About to enter Versailles.

Gardens at Versailles

Highlight of the trip – the row boat at Versailles.

On our way to London via The Chunnel.

Buckingham Palace. We asked if baby Prince George could play.

Squirrels at Hyde Park.

About to have the best fish and chips in London.

We found “The Spaghetti House”.

Ice cream in Hyde Park on a cold day.

St. Regis Lanesborough

Best thing about London – loading Charlotte into a taxi buckled in stroller.

Seriously good advice for a dumb American.

Train ride back to Paris. Charlotte feels important drinking sparkling water.

Think we rode every carousel in Paris.

And then it rained… and didn’t stop.

Last chance for our family photo op on a rainy day.

John’s favorite meal in Paris – duck.

Our breakfast every morning.

Galeries Lafayette

She earned her mademoiselle status.

The lovely garden at our apartment.

WOW!!! WHAT A BEAUTIFUL JOB OF DOCUMENTING YOUR WONDERFUL TRIP – I SALUTE YOU!!! I can’t imagine going all those places – let alone taking pictures of everything. I am thinking Charlotte will remember most of your trip when you show her the pictures. I am SO proud of you for making sure she was involved and felt loved – SHE WILL NEVER FORGET THAT!!! I didn’t know you went to Boston and London. No wonder you were completely worn out when you got home Kelsi. John you are proving to be a GREAT Father – I knew you would be. I’m anxious to have you tell me about it in person. I need a book that would explain the Eiffel Tower, Versailles and the other famous places. THANK YOU SO MUCH – I LOVE YOU ALL THREE – GRANDMA B
Great Shots………..She’s sure growing fast.
